MARCELO BUCATER

Marcelo Bucater is a drummer/percussionist from São Paulo - Brazil based in Los Angeles since 2013. 

Currently, part of the Drum Faculty at Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) in Pasadena - CA, teaching private and group lessons.

Marcelo has worked as a session and touring musician for several years, recording and performing live with different artists. His versatility as a drummer and percussionist lead to performances accompanying artists of different genres all over the world. 

He has produced, recorded and performed with independent artists and renowned musicians such as Carrie Underwood for the 51st ACM Award, Adam Levy (Norah Jones), Darek Oles (Pat Metheny), Scott Henderson (Chick Corea), Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai), John Avila (Oingo Boingo), Gemini (Justin Bieber), Natalia Spadini, Andrew Murdock (Linking Park), Tinto Tango, Koobang Ensemble, Duques, and Phat Cat Swinger just to name a few. 

Performed in venues like Disney California Adventure, Rose Bowl, Levi's Stadium, MGM Arena in Las Vegas, Hollywood Pantages Theater, Pershing Square LA, El Rey Theater, NAMM Show, Queen Mary, and many others.

With a Bachelor in Music at FAAM (SP-Brazil), a Degree in Music Performance at Los Angeles College of Music, and a Master Degree in Jazz Performance at California Institute of The Arts(CalArts) he had the chance to study with renowned musicians such as Jeff Hamilton, Joe LaBarbera, Ralph Humphrey, Randy Gloss, Joe Porcaro, Richie Gajate Garcia and  Edu Ribeiro.  

His passion for music and his craft is shown in his great feel and rock-solid support for the music and his warmhearted personality.

Marcelo trabalhou como músico gravando e tocando em turnês por vários anos, com diferentes artistas. Sua versatilidade como baterista e percussionista levou a performances que acompanham artistas de diferentes gêneros ao redor do mundo. Produziu, gravou e tocou com artistas independentes e renomados músicos como Carrie Underwood para o 51º Prêmio ACM em Las Vegas, Adam Levy (Norah Jones), Darek Oles (Pat Metheny), Scott Henderson (Tribal Tech), John Avila (Oingo Boingo), Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai), Gemini (Justin Bieber’s producer), Natalia Spadini, Little Brazil Trio, Andrew Murdock (Linkin Park’s producer), entre outros.

Bacharel em Música pela FAAM (SP-Brasil), Associates of Arts pela Los Angeles College of Music, e Mestrado em Performance de Jazz pela California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), onde teve a oportunidade de estudar com músicos renomados mundialmente como Jeff Hamilton (Diana Krall), Joe La Barbera (Bill Evans), Ralph Humphrey (Frank Zappa), Randy Gloss (Ziggy Marley), Joe Porcaro (Toto), Richie Gajate Garcia (Phil Collins), Edu Ribeiro (Trio Corrente) e Ale Damasceno (Zizi Possi) 

Sua paixão pela música e sua versatilidade como baterista e percussionista é mostrada através de sua arte mundo a fora.
